SUSTAINABLE FOOD

We will work with the catering team to achieve Gold Food for Life Catering Accreditation (Soil Association) on the food we provide to the delegates. In line with our sustainable ethos, the conference this year will also be a vegetarian event with an option to opt-in for a meat option to encourage a sustainable ethos.

 

With the growing awareness of the connection between good food, health and wellbeing, academic attainment and the environment, the soil associations food for life catering mark provides an independent endorsement for food providers who are taking steps to improve the food they serve.

 

Catering mark holders are audited to ensure they meet high standards of provenance and traceability, providing reassurance to customers that meals are freshly prepared using environmentally sustainable and seasonal ingredients.

 

Lancaster University was the first university in the county to be awarded two prestigious Gold food for life catering marks which guarantees that fresh, local and organic food is always on the menu
